The Sussex Chief Executive, Nigel Russell, presented Cottey with a bottle of champagne to commemorate the occasion.Tony Cottey commented: “I’ve enjoyed every one of those 250 matches. I’ve seen a lot of changes in the professional game since I made my first-class debut and I count myself very fortunate to be involved in such a great game. Let’s hope this milestone match is one to remember!”
